Health Accelerator partners with PenTest NZ
Recent cyber incidents in New Zealand primary care, including ManageMyHealth and MediMap, have significantly raised expectations around health information privacy, cybersecurity, and cyber‑risk management. Increased attention from the public, Health NZ and other government agencies means practices are now looking for cost‑effective, practical ways to demonstrate that cyber risks are being actively identified and responsibly managed.
To support the sector, Health Accelerator is pleased to partner with PenTest NZ to offer general practices a discounted, independent cyber security assessment. This recognises both the ongoing risk of cyber incidents across primary care and the growing need for practices to demonstrate sensible, proportionate cyber risk management in line with Health NZ requirements.
What’s on offer
A 25% discount on PenTest NZ’s standard cyber security assessment. For most practices, this is around $1,000 off the base assessment. The discount is available until 31 July 2026.
About the assessment
The assessment is carried out directly by PenTest NZ (a brand of Altersec) as an independent third party. It is designed to:
identify and document key cyber security risks relevant to your practice
provide clear, practice specific findings and recommendations
generate credible evidence that reasonable and practical steps are being taken to protect patient and practice information.
